Supplier approval

Every supplier begins in pending approval and is invisible to agencies until an administrator has reviewed the trading name, legal entity, company registration, insurance, accreditations and VAT status. Approval can be withdrawn and an organisation suspended where standards are not met.

Listing standards

  • Describe what is genuinely included, and state exclusions explicitly.
  • Give an honest price basis: base price, pricing unit, minimum charge and extras.
  • State dimensions, capacity, lead time, install and de-rig durations, and crew.
  • Keep service regions and travel radius accurate - out-of-area travel is chargeable.

Image requirements

  • Images are cropped to a consistent 4:3 marketplace ratio and never distorted.
  • The original upload is preserved; responsive variants are generated automatically.
  • Watermarks, third-party logos obscuring the product and unsuitable content are flagged for administrator review.
  • Alt text is required so the marketplace remains accessible.

Pricing transparency

The marketplace figure is a ballpark, not a binding quote. Suppliers may submit a revised proposal, and every revision must carry a reason, assumptions, exclusions and an expiry date. Accepted amounts are never silently overwritten; superseded versions remain on the record.

Reviews

Ballpark does not display ratings or reviews until a verified, transaction-backed review system is in place. No invented ratings, endorsements or customer logos appear anywhere on the platform.

Moderation and disputes

Administrators may reject or archive listings, moderate content and review disputes. Each decision is recorded in the audit log with the acting user and a timestamp.
